What does a school counselor do?

School counselors are trained and certified in counseling with unique qualifications and skills to address students’ academic success, personal and social needs, and career development. 

What is the Texas Comprehensive, Developmental Guidance, and Counseling Program? 

  • Individual and group counseling
  • Classroom Guidance lessons and presentations
  • Teacher/parent conferencing 
  • Family support and community resources
  • High school and career planning

School attendance is directly related to school success. Students need to be on-time and present to learn and be able to keep up with rigorous content.
